First cliffhanger episode! OMG [Moomin] milestone~
So. In the anime, the Hattifatteners were called "Nyoronyoro". We were discussing what to do with this term since the Japanese version resembled neither the English name nor the original Swedish name. I thought of making up a translation of Nyoronyoro, but I've read some of the books, so Hattifattener felt more natural to me, but probably only because I read the books... And considering what we've done thus far (lol 3 eps), we've pretty much stuck to trying to stick with the Japanese version of the names, but then! Thus far, they've pretty much resembled the (or part of the) original Swedish names when they don't resemble the English names. But then--
..........ANYWAY, in the end, after a few minutes, we couldn't decide, so I picked up my phone and decided using an 8 ball app. :D And by the power of [pseudo]randomness... POOF~! It became Hattifattener!

In my language they were called Basement Watchers when translated roughly to English, since they always hanged around Moomin's basement and all...
Man it's damn nice to go back to the old days. This show has defined a lot of lives for a lot of kids back in the day

Sadly, Moomin wasn't aired on local TV here during my childhood days :(
I think it's a fun watch even as an adult(?) though. lol
